A brand-new boutique hotel in the heart of Williamsburg, with New York's longest hotel pool and dining from Andrew Carmellini

How do you get a whole borough of too-cool-for-school hipsters’ tongues wagging? Design a cutting-edge, modern-skyscraper hotel, align yourself with a leading hospitality group, and hire its acclaimed restaurateurs to develop your dining plan. This is the approach that Williamsburg’s forthcoming The William Vale has taken, and so far, it’s working. The soon-to-open stay has already won itself a profile in Brooklyn’s Brownstoner, not to mention others in Haute Living and Condé Nast Traveller. It has also earned itself a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Helmed by Andrew Carmellini – the chef who brought you The Dutch (South Beach and NYC editions) and The Greenwich Hotel’s Locanda Verde – the food and beverage scene will likely be a draw in and of itself. The building, meanwhile, will include an elevated public green space, a panoramic rooftop lounge and New York’s longest hotel pool. And sure, the property may have gotten some great press so far, but that doesn’t mean the cat’s completely out of the bag. It may probably take some time after this promising property opens for it to take off, so make like a hipster, and sleep here before it’s cool.

We like

  • Doing laps in New York’s longest hotel pool, when the weather’s nice
  • Tasting Andrew Carmellini’s next great culinary creation
  • Staying at a hotel that’s caught the eye of Condé Nast Traveler – before it even opened
