Experience Sri Lanka’s ancient sites, magical wildlife, serene countryside and blissful beach, including all travel, half board and private excursions

Sri Lanka is a country strewn with cultural jewels and natural treasures. Its impressive landscapes host lush tropical forests, expansive dazzling lakes and magnificent mountain ranges. All this is scattered with captivating temples and ancient monuments, yet it remains largely untrodden by the typical tourist. With this 10-night luxury tour, you can discover Sri Lanka’s best bits, with the unique advantage of your very own English-speaking chauffeur.

You’ll discover the wonders of iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, with its terraced gardens, world-renowned frescoes and mirror wall. You'll also get to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa on a guided sightseeing tour. The next morning, visit the mystical Dambulla Cave Temple – a labyrinthine complex of five caves covered in colourful rock paintings – and a Matale spice garden, before arriving at the UNESCO World Heritage City of Kandy in central Sri Lanka, famed for its sacred Buddhist sites. From giant spectacles to tiny ones, you'll hit Temple of the Tooth next – home to a tooth relic that belonged to Buddha himself.

Next, visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden, before heading to Peradeniya railway station to hitch a scenic train ride to the capital of Sri Lanka’s tea country, Nuwara Eliya, nicknamed ‘Little England’; take in scenic countryside views as the train snakes its way through the mountains. The next day, head towards Horton Plains National Park en route to Udawalawe. Here, you’ll enjoy an exciting game drive at Udawalawe National Park, home to scenic landscapes and rare wildlife – your unforgettable chance to spot elephants, leopards, sloth bears, water buffalo, wild boar and much more.

Your final five nights will be spent in the calming cradle of Sri Lanka's south coast, staying in Weligama. This contemporary haven is primed for relaxation, whether you choose to indulge with a spa treatment or sip a refresher on the golden sands. When it comes to vistas, you'll never miss a beat – your room comes complete with Indian Ocean views.
