Prague's first designer aparthotel, in the New Town
It’s easy to be seduced by Prague, the so-called City of a Thousand Spires, adored for its skyline of gothic spires, bohemian charm, stunning architecture, and maze of cobbled lanes and hidden courtyards that are just wonderful to get lost in. So it’s easy to see why the city’s very first designer aparthotel has already become a hit since opening in Spring 2016 – not least for its spot-on Nove Mesto (New Town) location just a short sashay from Wenceslas Square.
Housed in two renovated historic buildings – the 19th-century Renaissance Revival palazzo on Halkova Street and a functionalist building right behind it – everything here has been glammed-up by a top-notch team of Italian architects and designers. But it’s the added little touches that really make this place special, like its pretty courtyard garden, four-star housekeeping and a concierge service. There are also plans in place to open a bistro, cocktail bar and fitness centre.
On the accommodation front, all of the 49 guest rooms, suites and lofts tempt you with Italian-inspired décor that’s resolutely contemporary. Expect signature H7 beds with new and plush mattresses, original works by mixed-media artist Marcello Manca, and striking travertine bathrooms with glass-enclosed walk-in showers. Factor in flatscreen TVs and luxurious toiletries, and chances are you’ll want to stay cocooned here forever.
