An electric Bangkok stay, a floating villa on the history-rich River Kwai and essential beach lazing in Krabi - includes travel

On this far-flung Thai adventure, you'll be swept from one iconic sight to the next in a charismatic contrast of captivating culture, ancient history and serene shorelines. You’ll begin your journey at Century Park Hotel in Bangkok, where there’s plenty going on right on your doorstep, from night markets and restaurants to the impressive Victory Monument. Enjoy some time relaxing in the rooftop pool and eating baked treats at the hotel patisserie, before heading to your stylish room for a good night’s sleep.

The Thai capital is a striking metropolis that immerses you in an intoxicating blend of new and old, where gleaming temples rub shoulders with state-of-the-art city shopping malls and upscale eateries. Among the city’s many alluring treasures, you'll find 400 beautifully built Buddhist temples and a host of awe-inspiring palaces.

Next, you’ll head to the River Kwai - made famous by the 1952 French novel by Pierre Boulle and the historic 1957 film by David Lean, The Bridge on the River Kwai. In utter tranquillity at The FloatHouse River Kwai, you'll have your very own floating villa to relax in. You'll also go on a guided tour to visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, the Allied War Cemetery, the bridge over the River Kwai, the Hellfire Pass Memorial, and also enjoy a historic and memorable ride on the 'Death Railway' train.

It’s then time to wind things right down with a heavenly sojourn in Krabi, on Thailand's captivating coast. Krabi is the home of lush mangroves, paradisal offshore islands and Thailand's iconic limestone karsts, which jut out of the turquoise water to create a unique seascape. When you're not flitting between Krabi La Playa Resort's outdoor spa pools, why not visit Tiger Cave Temple nearby, and take in panoramic views over the area.
