Lake Garda

A decadent break near Lake Garda's north shore, with a cookery class, a wine tour and excursions to beautiful Verona and Venice - includes half board and all travel

Situated right by the picturesque beaches of Torbole sul Garda, Hotel Continental is surrounded by the tranquil olive groves and vineyards of Nago, a village occupying an idyllic spot where the mighty Dolomite Mountains meet breathtaking Lake Garda. Whether you're into biking, trekking, strolling or out-and-out R&R, this beauty spot is a perfect base for a break away from it all. During days off the sightseeing trail, you can lie by the pool surrounded by lush Mediterranean gardens and opt for a dip in the indoor pool, a session in the sauna or a snooze in the relaxation area. It's no surprise the hotel pocketed a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

With this gastronomic tour, you'll be whisked off on day trips to two of Italy's must-see destinations and beautiful cities. You'll start with Venice, where you'll want to make a beeline for St Mark's Square, the Bridge of Sighs and Rialto Bridge - a private boat ride is included, but why not also complete the experience with a serene gondola tour (for an additional cost)? You'll also explore Verona on a guided visit, during which you'll get to roam the achingly romantic streets, shop on the elegant Via Mazzini, and have a chance to marvel at that balcony. You'll also get the opportunity to treat yourself to a live performance at the Arena di Verona.

Alongside all this Italian beauty, you'll enhance your Italian culinary prowess with a day's worth of cooking classes, at a villa on the hills near Bardolino. After careful tuition, you'll be a dab hand at making homemade pasta and choosing seasonal produce, with a handful of tricks and tips to carry home too. Sealing the trip off in style, a wine tasting experience in the Valpolicella will open you up to the intriguing traditions behind the Veneto wine region. A visit to a Tuscan vineyard will let you in on its biggest wine-making secrets.

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
